It All Started With a Book
short book recommendations just for you!

For my future readers of all ages, this is an article worth reading. Ever since I can remember, my sister has always loved to read books; up to this day you could get lost in that library of hers. I didn’t have this passion for myself; no matter how hard my parents tried to get me to read, I just couldn’t finish a book, until this beautiful masterpiece landed into my hands. My sister saw me reading Harry potter, (which is a very good saga, by the way) and told me I would like the Percy Jackson books too. So I gave them a try. Lord what I was in for, I would've never imagined.
It looked like any other book; however, there was something in the words that completely harnessed me. It was so entertaining, I simply couldn’t stop reading it. With every page I flipped it got better and better. My family couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw me attached to that book like my life depended on it.
If you don’t know anything about the Percy Jackson saga, I’ll give you a quick preview. The first one is called The Lightning Thief. It is about a 12 year old boy who realized his absent father was actually the Greek god of the seas, Poseidon, making him a demigod. He reaches a special camp for kids like him, where he is sent on a quest. I won’t spoil the rest, but I assure you it’s worth finding out.
This book opened my eyes to a whole new world. A fantastic place where anything is possible, all you have to do is believe. The way the author, Rick Riordan, uses words makes the reader feel part of the story, completely immersed in this reality he has created.
In my case, it was The Lightning Thief the one that got me to appreciate and enjoy this new feeling. For you it could be The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky or It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover or even The Shining by Stephen King. I don't assure you’ll find it on the first try.. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t surrender. Once you find it you will know and you’ll never want to stop again. You’ll wonder, how did I live this long without this?
I’ll leave here some recommendations to get started with.
